    Every great story begins with a dream—and ours began with a dream that never had an expiration date.

   

     At just 18 years old, our founder, Sheila H. Bynum, began her professional journey in the legal field. After dedicating 50 years to a successful career in law, she retired at 68 with a new question in her heart: What’s next?

 

     The answer was something she had always dreamed of—beauty school.

She stepped into a completely new chapter and followed that dream with courage, determination, and faith. While attending beauty school, she experienced three strokes, but even those unexpected challenges could not stop her from moving forward. She completed her education, earned her cosmetology license, and turned her dream into a reality by opening her own salon.

   

    That salon became Creative Hairstyles.

 

     Six months after opening, our founder reached out to a local school and began sharing her vision with the next generation. One of the people who answered that call was London.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

 

     What started as an opportunity quickly became a partnership built on trust, hard work, creativity, and a shared love for making people feel beautiful. Together, we’ve continued to grow Creative Hairstyles into more than just a salon—it’s a place where clients can walk through the door, feel welcomed, be heard, and leave feeling confident.

Our story is a reminder that it’s never too late to pursue your dream, start a new chapter, or discover what you’re truly meant to do.

 

     Today, Creative Hairstyles continues to be rooted in the same values that started it all: community, resilience, creativity, and genuine care for every client who sits in our chair.
